When Time Out catches Amrita Hepi on the phone, the dancer and teacher has just stepped off stage from a performance for 6,000 people, including the PM, in Perth, with Indigenous dance company Ochre. Pop fans might know Amrita from her regular video-clip driven dance classes. She’ll frequently pack venues out with crowds eager to learn the moves to say, Justin Bieber’s ‘Sorry’, and she’s taking her workshops on tour with Groovin the Moo.

In the future Amrita hopes Sydney: “Can remain resilient, and be open to exploring alternative options for supporting each other in all of our communities.”
