The minds behind the Betoota Advocate are doing an entire pub-takeover for the second year in a row this ANZAC day. Though known for their crass social observations (with particular venom reserved for baby boomers), the newspaper are actually being quite earnest about their ANZAC day program.
Head to the Lord Betoota (formerly known as the Lord Gladstone in Chippendale) for all the classics like, two-up, schooners and roaring crowds. And, stay for the particular Betoota twists like, an Oz rock cover band, menu items such as the 'Gunfire Breakfast' (black coffee and rum) and loaded 'Australian mixed grills'. A laid back way to spend ANZAC day, and if the crowd is anything like their demographic, not full of insufferable jocks.
