Time Out says

Have a true blue day out by the beautiful harbour waters

If you’re scratching your head wondering what to do this Australia Day, Darling Harbour has your back. The whole precinct surrounding Tumbalong Park is set to be packed with entertainment, great eats, and a whole host of ways to have a good time on the nation’s day off.

If you’re in search of excitement, look no further than Darling Harbour’s very own pop-up water park. There will be five mighty water slides to try – from the gently thrilling Frozen and Tropical slides, perfect for little ones, to the Atomic Drop and the Log-Jammer, for true adrenaline junkies – and best of all, they’re absolutely free to use. You will need to book your 45-minute session in advance, but with slide times running from 9am until 7pm, there are plenty of spots up for grabs.

If being Insta-fabulous is your Australia Day wish, you can up your selfie game at Tumbalong Park, where you can strike a pose with giant Aussie-themed inflatables, including a bouncy Kangaroo and perfectly pumped-up pineapple.

Throughout the precinct, true blue roving performers will be channelling all things Antipodean, so keep your eyes peeled for giant roos, surf lifesavers and a colourful cast of classic Aussie characters around Tumbalong Boulevard and Cockle Bay.

There will also be plenty of tunes on offer, with headliner DJ Dante leading a roll call of local DJs and musicians who’ll be spinning an Australia Day soundtrack of back-to-back bangers from the arvo into the evening.

But what Australia Day would be complete with a barbie? That's why the barbecue masters from Braza will be firing up a feast in Tumbalong Park, to make sure you’re sufficiently fueled-up to make the most of your day off. And if you’re hungry for something a little less local, many of the eclectic eateries of the Darling Harbour precinct will be welcoming punters. See you there cobber!
