Time Out says

The Chang Lai Yuan Chinese Gardens in Blacktown will be awash with colour, sound and excitement as over 20,000 locals and visitors stream in to celebrate the Lunar New Year.

There’ll be live entertainment, food, market stalls, jumping castles and workshops teaching kids and families lantern making, calligraphy, fan decorating and origami.

Looking to secure your fortune for the coming months? Join in the traditional Chinese New Year blessing ceremony, or watch the lion dance as it snakes through the crowd, scaring away evil spirits and spreading good luck.

Don't forget to bring a picnic blanket and settle into a prime spot for viewing the fireworks at 9pm.
