Time Out says

See how a Japanese expert uses local produce at this Izakaya pop-up

Nancy Singleton Hachisu is a pro on Japanese cuisine – she's written three books on it, her husband is a long time Japanese farmer and she's lived there since 1988 – and she's coming to Australia. You might know her from her previous books, Japanese Farm Food and Preserving the Japanese Way (which is definitely why the Cornersmith guys are big fans of her), and now there is the soon-to-be-released Japan: The Cookbook. To celebrate, Hachisu will host an Izakaya-style pop-up dinner at Boon Cafe. The dinner will bring the book to life, showcasing vegetable-focused and fresh seafood recipes and will also serve to demonstrated how fresh Australian produce can be celebrated using traditional Japanese techniques. There will be two seatings – at 6 pm or 8.30 pm – and booking is essential by emailing channie@chatthai.com.au.
