Time Out says

The Lunar New Year action at Freedom Plaza will rise to its most vibrant point on February 8-9, when Cabramatta's official Year of the Rat party kicks off. From 9am-4pm each day, revellers can see lion dancing, traditional performances and the God of Fortune.

There’ll be exciting interactive activities for all ages – the prawn-peeling competition is sure to be a heated one – as well as elaborate displays, firecrackers and of course, food. Cabramatta is the home of Vietnamese cuisine in Sydney, and also boasts a wealth of other diverse edible offerings, so it’s sure to put on some major food fireworks for Lunar New Year.
