Time Out says

Sydney may be cold, but we know a way to warm up

We know, we’re all freezing our asses off right now. But did you know that there’s a way to warm up without the need for a thousand jumpers? Well we do – it’s called Cantina’s Canteena, and it’s on in Kings Cross right now.

It’s a collaboration between Sydney food truck Cantina Movil, Don Julio tequila and Kings Cross eatery Sweethearts Rooftop BBQ. From Wednesdays to Sundays for six weeks, Sweethearts has been transformed into a Mexican fiesta. They've even brought in heaters to keep things warm up there in those city heights.

There will be heaps of Mexican fare like burritos and nachos, with more unusual fillings like chilorio pork and achiote chicken. Or keep things breezy with the $45 banquet menu, which includes nachos, tacos, quesadillas and chilli-spiked corn, not to mention a dessert of your choice (order the chilli chocolate ice cream if you can handle the chill).

Need something spicier? There will be a broad range of hot sauces to blow your socks – or at the very least, your tongues – off.

Cocktails are set to be pretty epic, with Tequila Espresso Martinis, Verditas, Sangritas and even a special Tequila Negroni (!!) comprising of Don Julio Reposado tequila, Antica Formila and Campari. We’re already sold.

The party has already started, having kicked off on Thursday July 21, but don’t worry, you’ve still got time to get there. The fiesta will keep on keeping on until Wednesday August 31.
