Looking for yet another excuse to visit Archie Rose (aside from just wanting to down a cracking cocktail, of course)? Well, here you go: you can now take part in a number of different tailored spirits experiences, ranging from gin and whisky masterclasses to distillery tours and tasting sessions.

The original distilling site in Rosebery (which is attached to the main bar) has been completely transformed and is now a dedicated space for hosting these special events and experiences.

Top of your to-do list if you’re a longtime drinker of Archie Rose should be the Gin Session – you’ll enjoy a guided tasting of three gins, learn the history behind the brand and find how things are done differently. Another goodie is the Cocktail Masterclass, which involves an expert bartender teaching you how to stir, shake and strain three classic cocktails.

If you’re keen to get your hands dirty, try the Blend Your Own Gin or Blend Your Own Whisky classes. Both will allow you to create two 200ml samples of your very own signature drink, which you can take home and either down immediately or treasure forever.

And, of course, no visitor to the site should leave without embarking on the Distillery Tour. You’ll start off at the bar and cellar door, before exploring the copper-filled compound and learning how the Archie Rose team produce their world-class gins, whiskies and vodkas. Best of all, you'll get to sample many of the spirits throughout the tour.

So whether you’re trying to impress a date, do something new with your mates or need some gift inspo, it’s hard to go past one of these bespoke Archie Rose experiences – because who doesn’t love learning stuff and drinking booze, all at the same time?!

Most of the events and experiences run in the evenings from Wednesday to Saturday (although extra sessions are added during peak times), and prices range from $29 to $129. For more information and to check availability, head to the website.
