[Cancelled] Local makers, DJs and creatives comes together for this anniversary shindig

This event has been cancelled.

Collabrative studio space Commune will be hosting a party to celebrate their fifth birthday. The sprawling warehouse precinct will host a day-to-night music and art fuelled knees-up that will see many of the people that have used the space appearing on the line-up.

There will be DJ sets from Goodgod’s Jimmy Sing, DJ James De La Cruz (formerly of the Avalanches), Halfway Crooks' Levins and Franco, boss ladies Flex Mami and DJ Nes, Bare Necessities' Sam Z and FBi's Dusty Fingers. You'll also hear live sets from reggae outfit the Strides, dancing and drumming from Ghana's Karifi Ensemble, plus Matuse Peace and Okenyo.

There will be art installations from Jamie Preisz, Otis Carey, Rae Begley, Jesse Wright, Peter Fulker, Cam Scott and Alex Latham. There will also be vintage markets for you to peruse and food stalls.

Commune is known for hosting regular creative workshops, and on their birthday, they'll be doing just that. Learn to mix with DJ James De La Cruz; find out about the art of electronic production with Heaps Decent; or try your hand at dancing with Groove Therapy and Feras. Tickets to these workshops must be booked at an additional cost.
