Head to this festival celebrating sustainability through workshops, markets and talks

This free, family-friendly festival challenges Eastern Suburbs residents reduce their environmental impacts while still having a stellar day out. The Eco Living Expo features markets offering environmentally-friendly homewares and local products, a series of interactive workshops and demonstrations championing sustainable activities like bee keeping, raising chickens and repairing and riding your own bike, and activities for kids, including a wildlife show and a recycling art class.

The live talks will be a big drawcard for the day. Guests include Triple J’s Dr Karl speaking on our 2030 greenhouse gas emissions target, sustainable fashion fighter Camille Reed talking about fashion and the circular economy, and the man behind Australia’s electric vehicle charging stations, Tim Washington discussing the future of transport.

After these insightful discussions, you can have a chat with experts at the festival hubs focusing on waste, transport, gardening, food and kids. After you test-drive an e-bike, check out the tiny house display, learning about composting and then enjoy an organic lunch at the food stalls, that’s a pretty huge day.
