Time Out says

A day devoted to fermented rice wine comes to the CBD

The CBD's favourite boutique bottle shop, the Oak Barrel, will host the inaugural Festival of Sake in April. The afternoon will see the shop transform into a slice of Japan, showcasing their national drink with tastings and talks. They'll show you the ins and outs of the brew by introducing you to craft sake breweries from Japan, both old school (think hundreds of years old) and new school, small batch producers.

Japanese wine will also be on show (both traditional and skin contact drops), alongside Okinawa's own unique spirit, awamori, shochu and sake spin-offs including citrus bent yuzushu and umeshu. There will also be food pairing stalls that will see different sakes matched with specialty snacks including hand rolled sushi. Kanpai!
