Mardi Gras is just around the corner and Crown Street favourite the Winery is joining the festivities with an absolutely fabulous Mardi Gras party with DJ Phill Hollins from 7.30pm (Friday 2 and Saturday 3). There will snacks, comedy and drinks from Wednesday February 28 to Monday March 5.

It all kicks off with a booze party with the dapperly dressed and hilarious Rhys Nicholson. The Barry-nominated comedian will be taking to the Winery's intimate Champagne Room for an evening of side-splitting laughs, navigating gay marriage, filthy-mouthed quips and more. Nicholson will be joined by Lily Starr, and good news to those planning last-minute Mardi Gras parties, because for just $30 you can get general entry tickets to the Friends of Dorothy party. You'll get entry to Rhys Nicholson's show, and the option to purchase food and drink at the bar.

But if you want the complete treatment, get the full package for just $99  and you'll get tasty canapés with unlimited beer and wine (with responsible service of alcohol compliance, of course).

On Thursday and Friday night it's all about warming up for the weekend with $99 Mumm Champagne Magnums from 6pm-9pm, then on Friday and Saturday there will be DJs spinning queer anthems that'll make you get up and dance – you better believe they'll be spinning a bit of Queen Cher.

Then Monday is all about recovering from the big night. To help you, out there will be complimentary canapés from 3pm-5pm and a double steak frites special from 5pm. Plus there will be bargain drink specials including $12 cocktails all day, making for a delicious send out for one of the biggest weekends on the LGBTIQA+ calendar.
