For a full evening of family-friendly entertainment bookended by spectacular views of the midnight fireworks, book in to Harbour Hoopla, a vintage circus-themed NYE party hosted at the Royal Botanic Garden.
There’ll be performances from the Candy Stripe Circus Troupe, fancy dress-up photo booths, interactive sideshow games and a fairground of wobbly mirrors, as well as electro swing and pop classics spun by DJ Soup.
However, the biggest drawcard of Harbour Hoopla has to be its location – ticket holders will have access to picnic-style seating on Tarpeian Lawn right by the water. Each person will receive a hamper that includes antipasto, salad, a main, dessert and supper.
A portion of the event’s proceeds will go toward supporting science, horticulture and conservation projects at the garden, so there’s your first good deed of 2018 done and dusted.
