Time Out says

IKEA stores are hosting a series of workshops and events all designed to help you get a better night’s sleep

We spend one third of our lives asleep, if we’re lucky, but we don’t spend much time thinking or talking about what goes into good sleep. IKEA saw an opportunity to shine a spotlight on our slumbering selves and will proudly present their Festival of Sleep from this September 26 to October 7.

The festival, which aligns with the release of IKEA’s 2020 catalogue that features as always beds and bedroom furniture and accessories, will take place at IKEA stores and involve an impressive schedule of workshops. You can learn mindfulness from meditation experts to help you switch off at night. Celebrity designers including Jamie Durie will talk about styling a boss bedroom, and you can also learn how light and sound can be employed to enhance your sleep. Yoga and breakfast sessions hosted by local yoga teachers will get you ready for your day.

For kids, there’ll be pyjama parties, treasure hunts and storytime sessions. Newer parents can get help in getting their babies to sleep through the night with a workshop hosted by infant sleep specialists. If you’re buying bedding, the stores will offer free personalised embroidery services. And there will be many opportunities to win great prizes too.

To help you sleep even better at night the festival has a philanthropic component, whereby for every ergonomic pillow sold during the festival IKEA will donate one to a needy charity.

A reported 40 percent of Australians don’t get enough sleep. IKEA is here to help with a festival that we’re fully expecting will be a bit of a yawn – in a good way. Find out the full schedule of events here.
