Time Out says

Celebrate the re-emergence of the community with this thrilling program of music, food, booze and art

With huge public events off the cards the Inner West council asked the local community for some bright ideas. They invited local artists, small business owners, leaders and citizens to come forward with innovative activation and event ideas for this years iteration of the festival. Inner West Fest 2022 is the result of those ideas, with over 56 events rolling out over the next few months. Expect laneway activations, food and drink festivals, live music in parks, circus and family-friendly activities.

Until April 10 the Inner West will come alive with opportunities to reconnect with your area and community. The program is packed with goodies to mark in your diary. Head to Marrickville's Red Rattler for queer cabaret night Don't Cha Wish You Yum Cha, appreciate woman-fronted music acts at the Girls to the Front mini-fest at Midnight Special in Newtown and enjoy delights from local brewers and makers at the Beer and Food Truck Festival in St Peters.

For family-friendly fun hit up the Futureproof youth music festival in the impeccable vibes of the Pratten Park bowlo in Ashfield or send the kiddos into the stratosphere with a circus in the park experience. The Ashfield Town Hall will also be lit-up for the duration of the festival with the Djarrawunang storytelling project – combining mesmerising light projections and audio to portray local Aboriginal perspectives.

There's plenty to explore, make a date with Inner West Fest at various events and activations from February 25 until April 10.
