There's a free party featuring Gang of Youths, free whiskey and a whole hog?

If the excellent marketing campaign of Jack Daniel's throughout the '90s and early thousands taught us anything, it's that Jack knows how to throw a party. For Thanksgiving this year they are hosting a free shindig in Rosebery and there are 25 extra tickets available, which you can register for on Wednesday, Nov 16 - first in, first served. The reason you want to try your luck is that it sounds like a cracker. Gang of Youths will be playing a live set, as will rockabilly heartbreaker Pat Capocci; the Three Blue Ducks crew will be doing modern twists on classic American sides and starters; and the main event will be a whole hog smoked for 24 hours by Tennessee pit-master Zach Parker of Scott's-Parker's Barbecue. And you'd best believe that there'll be a whole lot of Jack Daniel's Tennessee whiskey on offer too. Registration opens at 9am on Wednesday so don't be caught snoozing if you want in.
