Celebrate Indigenous culture and tradition to launch Reconciliation Week

The annual Koojay Corroboree is a huge gathering on Coogee Beach where the community can be part of a full morning of ceremonies, performances and interactive workshops honouring First Nations peoples. Indigenous actor and TV presenter Luke Caroll will MC the event, and you’ll see works by local Aboriginal dance groups and school performers.

The day will begin with a smoking ceremony and workshops in playing the didgeridoo and creating seashell artwork, as well as masterclasses in using boomerangs. The speeches and performances will follow, with the beach coming to life as stories of the Dreamtime are shared through movement and music in the corroboree circle.
