Celebrate the return of international travel to South Korea at this family-friendly event

Have you been dreaming of a trip to South Korea? If that’s a yes, you’ll be thrilled to know that international travel to this vibrant and currently very hip country has finally resumed – and to celebrate the exciting news, the Korea Tourism Organization (KTO) Sydney is featuring a huge digital art installation, cute mascots and epic giveaways.

Korea Welcomes You 2022 kicks off on September 8 at Darling Quarter in Darling Harbour, and will also coincide with Chuseok, aka Korean Thanksgiving Day, which is traditionally held during the lunar calendar’s harvest moon.

The centrepiece of the event will be an enormous cube installation, which will project wall-to-wall imagery from South Korea’s history, culture and landscape. Step inside the fully immersive space and be transported to locations such as the turquoise coast of Jeju Island or the historic Gyeongbokgung Palace. There will also be plenty of opportunities to meet Chorongi and Saekdongi (KTO’s traditional hanbok-clad mascots), or take a happy snap with one of the super-cute Kingdom Friends characters.

Korea Welcomes You 2022 is free and no ticket is required to attend.

If you register your interest in advance via Eventbrite you can collect an exclusive free gift upon arrival. Or complete the event survey and you will go into the draw to win return flights to South Korea – how cool is that?
