Time Out says

Sign up for free workout programs that you can do in your lunch break

There are many compelling reasons to avoid exercise. Gyms can be depressing, expensive affairs and long runs can be intensely boring and lonely, whereas eating doughnuts is generally a cheap and enlightening experience (in our opinion). But sooner or later we’ll have to face our soft bellies and do something about it. So you can imagine our intrigue when we heard there are free workout programs on offer in the city, during lunchtimes and after work.

Live Life Get Active have teamed up with Fraser’s Property Australia to try and eliminate everything unappealing about exercise by providing a completely free social workout program that runs in locations like Chippendale Green in Central Park.

Each session runs for 45 minutes and has a different focus. On Mondays and Thursdays you can work up a sweat with cross training, while Tuesdays and Wednesdays are about channelling your rage with boxing. The final working day of the week is given to a more relaxing yoga session.

They’re run by qualified trainers who can provide personalised eating plans for anyone who registers. The program is free but you need to register online and book sessions in advance to attend. As an added incentive, if you miss more than two consecutive pre-booked sessions, you’ll be barred for the following week. Now that’s a good reason to stick to your fitness goals.
