Come and celebrate with your favourite furry four-legged friend

Kensington Street is hosting a party this February 17 to welcome in the Year of the Dog with the support of the Sydney Dogs and Cats Home, a not-for-profit organisation located in Sydney that works to re-home domestic animals.

Bring your canine comrade along to howl in the Lunar New Year. Tell your furry friend to sit as you both get your caricature drawn, then, because he’s such a good boy, buy him some new doggie bling or a special dessert from Haus of Harley. Head through the doors of the Dog House for Pooches and Pinot, where a $5 donation to the Sydney Dogs and Cats Home will get you a glass of vino and some play time with the resident puppies.

Sans dog? You can still join in the celebrations. Treat yo’self at the Handpicked Cellar Door with their yoga class (just make sure to bring along your own mat). Stick around afterwards for a wine tasting; the yoga is free, while the wine costs $10.

Or take a seat at Spice Alley, where the Asian eateries will be serving up their signature street food-style dishes. You can also score some hot dogs from Kensington Street Social while enjoying a traditional Shanghai Opera. There will also be lantern making workshops as well as fortune tellers.
