Time Out says

A sticky celebration of Australia’s favourite golden fruit is coming to Bondi

If you’ve spent many a summer afternoon gleefully ripping into ripe mangoes, then this is the festival for you. The Mess-tival is a fruit beach party run by North Bondi Surf Life Saving Club that’s dedicated to mangoes.

All the messy fun is coming to Bondi’s sands this weekend. Apart from the obvious mango-based snacks – they’ll be slicing fresh cheeks, barbecuing mangoes, crafting mango flowers and making bicycle-powered smoothies – there will also be mango producers from around the country selling take-home fruit, fun summer giveaways, relay races, and the popular mango eating competition (prepare to get messy).

This will be a Sunday morning family-friendly affair, running from 8am-noon.
