Time Out says

Be a part of Sydney’s largest Japanese festival this summer

This annual festival celebrates the strong relationship between Japanese culture and Sydney’s diverse community. The festivities have been popping up in Sydney since 2006, with tens of thousands of revellers making their way to Tumbalong Park in Darling Harbour for a day of Japanese art, music, food and drink.

This year, there’ll be more traditional cultural experiences across workshops and performances. Witness the exquisite accuracy of Japanese calligraphy, origami and flower arrangement, or get involved in an authentic tea ceremony. Also expect live entertainment from wadaiko drummers, karate masters, J-pop artists and cosplay professionals.

And since the party sets up on December 7, be sure to stock up on Christmas gifts from the markets, then start the holidays early at the beer garden with a Japanese brew or saké.
