Where to watch the race that stops a nation? These 12 venues across Sydney offer food and drink packages for groups large and small, as well as sweepstakes, fashion prizes and the race itself, live on large screens.

The venues are located in some of Sydney's most popular locations – harbourside at King Street Wharf and Woolloomooloo Wharf; Sydney CBD; eastern suburbs chic in Surry Hills, Potts Point and Elizabeth Bay; and beachside at Manly.

All packages are on offer for noon-3.30pm on Monday November 1, 2016.

The Rook Sydney
Three-hour beverage package plus ten different canapés, $120pp.

Bungalow 8 King St Wharf
Three-course set menu plus three flutes of Mumm or three glasses Peroni, $115pp. Expect shared entrées like seafood antipasto plates; sirloin, salmon or vegetarian mains; and a dessert tasting plate.

Cargo Bar King St Wharf
Three-course set menu plus three flutes of Mumm or three glasses Peroni, $105pp. Antipasto, lamb or barramundi mains and a shared dessert platter to get you into the spirit of the day.

Gazebo Elizabeth Bay
Four-course set menu plus a flute of Ruinart on arrival, $115pp. Soak in the sunshine as you indulge in Wagyu brescaola for entrée and Angus sirloin or barramundi for main.

Sweethearts Rooftop Kings Cross
Three-hour beverage package plus eight different canapés, $100pp.

The Sugar Mill Kings Cross
Three-course set menu plus three flutes of Chandon Sparkling or three glasses of tap beer, $75pp. Get shared starters and desserts plus Wagyu or chicken mains.

The Winery Champagne Room Surry Hills
Four-course set menu plus three flutes of Mumm Rosé on arrival, $120pp. Lunch is a mix of tastes, including carpaccio of snapper, burrata, roasted beetroot, spelt grains, pecans and watercress, 300gm beef rump with potato purée, salsa verde and aged balsamic and to finish a ricotta and honey pie with candied orange. 

Kingsleys Woolloomooloo
Three-course set menu plus flute of Veuve Cliquot on arrival, $159pp. Expect cold seafood platters for entrées; grasslands tenderloin, roasted Wagyu or ocean trout for mains; and blueberry cheesecake or fruit compote for dessert.

Manly Wine Manly
Four-course set menu plus flute of Mumm Rosé on arrival, $110pp. Includes slabs to share (think crispy pea, mint and ricotta rice balls, sake and ponzu cured salmon, or roast haloumi with sweet and sour eggplant and toasted almonds) and big plates (like charred eye fillet or garlic and chilli prawn and mussels spaghetti). Finish the meal with an Australian cheeseboard and all the trimmings.
