Time Out says

Start the week with engaging talks and performances at Belvoir's Upstairs Theatre

In collaboration with Melbourne’s Wheeler Centre and Sydney Writer’s Festival, Belvoir St Theatre is making Monday nights all about talks and ideas. Every month, Belvoir's upstairs theatre will be transformed into a stage for panel discussions exploring an idea like alcohol and justice, with each discussion ending with a performance or reading.

The next event will be held on September 18 featuring Woman of Substances writer and former Time Out Melbourne editor Jenny Valentish, plus medical researcher Michael Bowen, and arts writer and Golden Age Cinema selector Kate Jinx. They'll chat about  on alcohol the role drinking plays in our national identity and the personal, social and public health costs.

On October 9, writer Benjamin Law will lead the conversation on Australia’s commitment to asylum seekers and Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander issues. He’ll be joined by barrister and refugee advocate Julian Burnside and Women’s Justice Network CEO and ex-prisoner Kat Armstrong.
