Time Out says

Explore the region's past and present with art, weaving workshops and cooking demonstrations

The streets and parks of Parramatta will come alive in May with art installations, food tastings, guided tours and workshops celebrating the diverse culture of the region. Indigenous culture and colonial and convict history will be explored beside the experiences of the modern Parramatta community through the Art in the Park series.

Become part of the art on May 12 and learn traditional Aboriginal weaving techniques from local pros. If you’re at the Farmers’ Market in Centenary Square on May 11, drop by Fertile Ground for a bush tucker cooking demonstration and tasting. Or, on May 18 explore some of Australia’s oldest buildings on a private tour of UNESCO World Heritage listed sites and colonial cottages for $45.
