You’re no doubt familiar with the escape room concept: a themed room, a ticking clock, and a series of puzzles to solve before time runs out.
Sydney’s newest escape room, Myst Escape Rooms in Glebe, ups the ante with four different escape experiences, all of them utilising custom-designed props and advanced interactive technology. They’ll be launching them at a public party on Friday May 31 from 6pm, giving visitors a chance to try out the games while enjoying food, drinks and a DJ. Tickets are just $15, and available to book now.
So what escape experience can you expect?
Dracula’s Dark Awakening challenges you and your team to rescue an immortal soul from the clutches of the Prince of Darkness and slay the vampire. In Pirate’s Gold, you get to explore the ship commanded by pirate princess Catalina, solve the puzzles and find the hidden treasure. Cursed Tomb, meanwhile, is an epic, two-hour, Indiana Jones-style journey into a sinister ancient tomb.
Then there’s the big ticket item: Ancient Palace. This immersive theatre experience is a live murder mystery taking place at birthday feast of the aristocratic Mr Yan in an old house during the Qing Dynasty. Players take on the roles of characters, guided by professional actors over the course of a three-hour game that is designed to be a highly engaging and emotional logic puzzle.
The venue also has multiple game rooms for playing board games, making Myst a place to hang out as well as an escape room centre.
