Raise a glass to an evening of education at the pub

This evening where beer meets knowledge has become an internationally beloved ritual for informed publicans. The Nerd Nite has been held in more than 100 cities across the globe, where local academics, scientists and experts in obscure fields are invited to the pub to present short, informative discussions.

North Sydney’s Rag and Famish Hotel are going all out, hosting a Nerd Nite every Wednesday evening in August. There will be two speakers each night, presenting for one hour. It’ll be a diverse curriculum, covering neuroscience, social media trends and business affairs – but they’ll keep it light and you don’t have to take notes. And just like your university days, you’ll take it all in through a haze of beer and chip rolls.

These quirky learning events have proven pretty popular, so you’ll want to register for a spot through the North Sydney Council.
