At the pinnacle of glamorous New Year’s Eve celebrations is the Opera Australia event – an evening of fine dining, arias and operettas, bookended by a view of the midnight fireworks from Sydney’s best vantage point.

There are three packaged ticketing options: one for a pre-performance dinner, one for a midnight party, and one ticket which will allow you access to both and also incudes a performance of either La Bohème or a gala concert of opera’s greatest hits.

Go all out for $1,422 per person and enjoy the three-course meal and wine before the show, and canapes, drinks and live entertainment before the midnight fireworks. This ticket includes the show price (which is conveniently timed so that intermission is during the 9pm display).

If you’re not feeling up for a full night of entertainment, you can hit up the pre-show dinner for $399 or the midnight gathering for $349 per person. Since you're at the Opera House, add on a La Bohème ticket for $269 or entry to the opera gala for $299.

Whichever very fancy way you go, the drawcard is that view and a prime spot for the true star of the night – the famous Sydney fireworks.
