Time Out says

One of the hottest spots around the harbour is open for a family-friendly NYE celebration

Within the Sydney Harbour National Park there is an expanse of wonderfully lush, green lawns facing the Harbour Bridge on the estate of Strickland House, and you’re welcome to pop your picnic blanket down and enjoy uninterrupted views of the fireworks this New Year’s Eve.

For the entry price of $38.33, you can BYO drinks and nibbles and do away with the stress of battling the crowds for a spot down towards the Bridge while still having access to a prime sparkly light position. Bring the whole family, with cheaper tickets for kids aged 5-15 and kids under 5 admitted for free.

Unfortunately, there won’t be access to the Victorian Italianate mansion, a former convalescent home and hospital turned event space. But this striking heritage-listed building is best enjoyed from the outside anyway and will provide a great background for ’gram shots in the lead up to the main event.
