Time Out says

Take a stance against food waste with OzHarvest

OzHarvest, the leading food rescue organisation of Australia, will be holding its fourth year of the Think.Eat.Save campaign to raise awareness of global food loss and waste reduction. If you attend this event, you will be served a free hot meal including soup and stews made from produce that would otherwise end up as landfill.

In 2015, over 400 volunteers at the event served 11,000 people (throughout the country) 13,400 meals made from rescued food. This year's festival aims to start a national debate on food sustainability and food security.

Members of the public can get involved with the movement by making their own pledge to change their eating habits and reduce food waste with #PledgeAPlate. To pledge a plate, make your own meal from leftovers or saved ingredients, take a photo and upload it onto social media with the hashtag #PledgeAPlate.
