Parramatta will once again host their huge New Year's Eve celebrations at Parramatta Park, and it will all kick off on December 31 from 4pm to 9pm. There’ll be tonnes of family-friendly fun to farewell the past year including live music, roaming performers, amusement rides, a massive selection of food stalls and, of course, the sparkling fireworks finish.

Jazz cats should shimmy over to the Crescent from 6pm to watch headliners like the Sydney Jazz Orchestra belting out a rocking bluesy-pop playlist as they cover some of the world’s most renowned artists. Then you can expect more funk, disco and Motown from the Ordinary Band and the Diamonds.

Coronation Hill will also be ramping things up from 6pm with a huge line-up of family-friendly entertainers. The little'uns can meet their favourite characters from Hotel Transylvania and Splashdance, then dance along to classic Disney movie tunes with Bethany Fisher’s musical show, Kidding Around.

Those looking for a high-adrenaline conclusion to 2018 should head to the fairground and spin out on the amusement rides, get glitzed up with face painting or get to know some talented circus performers. You’ll find more fun at Carnival on the Green, which hosts carnival rides, hula-hoop classes and a parade of sugary treats.

You’ll also find salty snacks like Korean barbecue, dumplings and slow-cooked meat to keep you kicking till 9pm, when the fireworks will light up the sky in a grand finale. And where can you find the best view? Right from your picnic rug.

Gates open at 4pm and, as a New Year's treat, entry is free.
