Get your skates on and glide into winter at the Parramatta Winterlight festival
Sydney’s biggest open-air ice rink is back again this July. They've got skating, of course, but there'll also be the Dream Wheel for sky-high views, and a snowflake garden that'll be fun to explore.
The festival includes free kids' workshops, including cookie decorating and arts and crafts sessions. Plus, there's a second, smaller rink, to offer a safe environment for first time skaters.
If you get cold feet, warm up with hot chocolate or mulled wine, along with other comfort eats available in the food village.
Special weekend events include ice shows, a circus playground, roving entertainers and a DJ on Friday and Saturday nights.

Had a ball skating last year - they've been putting in the rinks and rides over the last week so im super excitedddd
My pick of all of the Sydney pop up ice rinks. I've been to Winterlight every year and it just keeps getting better and better. Plenty of good food there and other places nearby. It looks like a winter fairy land.
