Paula Hawkins is the woman behind the novel dubbed the next Gone Girl. She was a journalist for 15 years before she wrote her first thriller The Girl on the Train, which has become a worldwide bestseller. What’s unusual about the book is that the protagonist is less than likeable, prone to blackouts and drunk dialling. The Zimbabwe-born writer will be speaking with ABC RN’s Kate Evans as part of Sydney Writers’ Festival.
