Time Out says

Spend a day out with your four-legged best friend and move a paw closer to changing the stigma around mental health

If you’ve ever cuddled a puppy after a long, arduous day, you’ll know dogs can have a positive effect on wellbeing. So on Sunday, September 29, enjoy a day out with the whole family including your pooch to raise awareness about mental health.

Positive Vibes Foundation aims to change the outlook on mental health through informative community events. They will be hosting their sixth Pawsitive Steps – Mind, Doggy and Spirit Festival, running in partnership with mental health therapy group Mind Connections and as part of the Hills Shire Orange Blossom Festival

There will be treats for you and your little pal with a variety of delicious, healthy food stalls. At Coco’s Shack, you can attend workshops, demonstrations and talk with local vets and trainers to find out more about your pet. Make sure you keep an eye out for Coco, the mascot, whose tail will be wagging somewhere nearby. There will also be a new sharing program known as ‘Faces of Mental Health’ which was developed with the Windsor Road Private Clinic to create a positive attitude toward mental health.

Don’t forget your dog lead and be sure to register for the ‘Walk for Wellbeing’ where you can expect a few giveaways and activities along the way.

This fun day out is free and all you have to do is register and bring along your dog (if you’re lucky enough to own a pupper) to support this important cause.
