Feel the beat of South America in Liverpool at this brand-new free festival

Liverpool is bringing the heat, beats and eats to Macquarie Mall this October for a huge celebration of Latin American culture. You can salsa under the stars, feast on birria tacos and join the party at nightly street parades from October 20-22.

Primavera will bring all the flair and electricity of South America with pulsating performances on the main stage. Follow the sound of the guitar and samba to watch a lively line-up of Latin American acts including the Voice Australia contestant Carlos C Major, virtuoso Mexican harpist Victor Valdes, heavy soul band Gang of Brothers, an exceptional Mariachi band and more.

Make sure to wear your dancing shoes so you can take part in dance workshops from Peru, Colombia and Chile. Once you’ve worked up an appetite, head to the food stalls where you can sample traditional and contemporary Latin dishes including pupusas (stuffed flatbreads) from Raza Central, tacos from Papi’s Birria, paella from Vamonos Paella, empanadas from Cholito, and churros from Mr Spanish Churro. Wash it down with a mezcal or Margarita from the El Patron bar.

Primavera will also bring the colours and sounds of Latin America to Liverpool with a colourful street parade every night, an artisanal market selling everything from textiles and jewellery to baked goods, and free kid’s activities including face painting, flower crown workshops, plate decorating and Mexican wrestling mask making.

The full program will be released shortly and you can find out more here.
