This smash hit tattoo festival is back for its second year in Sydney
Over 300 international and local tattooists and body artists will be converging on Sydney's Royal Hall of Industries for the Rites of Passage. This festival started in Melbourne, but when it landed up north last year, the masses responded with open, inked arms.
Visitors to the Rites of Passage Festival will be given the chance to take part in tattoo competitions and meet artists including New Zealand's Ben Kaye (of Ship Shape Tattoos) and Monarch Liverpool's Chris Showstopper. There'll be live tattooing throughout the weekend – so if you've been thinking of investing in a piece-for-life, and dig the idea of an audience there to witness it, this is your chance.
The festival includes a 'Miss Rites of Passage' competition, massive giveaways and prizes and a chance to watch the Tattoo Series, a five round inking competition. Rites of Passage is all about celebrating the creativity and diversity of the body art community, so whether you're interested in subtle linework or a full suit of ink, there'll be an artist present whose style suits yours.
