Felons Brewing Co, Manly

If you haven't been to Manly recently, pack a towel and come to Felons Brewing Co. for lunch – the vibe is on point. From the chocolate umbrellas and unbeatable ocean views to the puffy Napoli-style pizzas and jazz, soul and funk band line-up throughout the week, it's *the* spot to kick back and soak up summer. Oh, did we mention the main attraction? On the taps, you’ll see Felons Crisp Lager, Galaxy Haze and an Australian Pale Ale, alongside barrel-aged and seasonal, limited-edition brews, including a Japanese Rice Lager specifically brewed for Manly.

Watson’s Bay Hotel

For Sydneysiders, Watson’s Bay Hotel is best known for its huge, indoor–outdoor pub that occupies the ground floor – a popular spot for long summer lunches and rosé-fuelled sunset sessions. With unbeatable sunset views, an exceptionally well-priced bottomless brunch menu, and easy access to the city (via ferry – the top-tier mode of public transport), it’s a delightful spot for a special occasion dinner with a big group of friends, or a casual, relatively affordable date night.

BrewDog South Eveleigh

Housed in an historic locomotive workshop, BrewDog’s bar and taproom hold up to 720 people, so you can imagine just how it goes off in the summer months. Expect to find more than 20 craft beers on tap from BrewDog as well as other local breweries and guest takeovers. Food wise, half the menu is plant-based, so it’s good for vegans, vegetarians and veggie lovers, as well as serving juicy burgers, tasty pizzas, fresh salads and other snackable share plates.

Glory Days Bondi

Glory Days Bondi is exactly the sort of place you’ll want to stroll to in swimmers, post-dip. You can find the chocolate and vanilla umbrellas at the newly restored Bondi Pavilion (and is neighbours to Promenade Bondi Beach) overlooking the glorious famed stretch of sand. Open for breakfast and lunch seven days a week, the café’s menu has beachside dining in mind: think fresh, approachable and tasty.

Opera Bar

Opera Bar – Sydney’s most iconic harbourside venue – reopened this year with a fresh new team, an amped-up music program and an exciting menu celebrating the city’s diversity of flavours. New South Wales’s best farmers and producers will be highlighted on the menu in one cracking harbourside location. It’s paired with a solid, holiday-like drinks menu featuring plenty of great Australian wines, smashable cocktails and spritzes. Hello, golden hour at Opera Bar.

El Camino Cantina

If you’re in the party spirit and a pint of lager isn’t going to cut it, there are Margaritas on tap at El Camino Cantina, a brightly-lit, enthusiastically Tex Mex (emphasis on the Tex) restaurant and bar in The Rocks. Your drink comes in a comically large cocktail glass and has a handful of ice in it to keep it cool until the last sip. Of course if it’s one of those days that only frozen drinks can remedy, they also have frozen Margaritas in original, strawberry and mango flavours.

Winghaüs EQ

There's something very appealing about the American sports bar, with its love of beer, wings, possibly nachos in a hat, and big screens showing our modern gladiators going head to head for game and glory. That's the vibe that the Winghaus brings to the Entertainment Quarter. You can expect beer taps, plenty of large-screen TVs, and wing dips and hot sauces to boot. Alongside the good old chicken wings, there are burgers, giant pretzels, and chips and dip (though they're not served in a hat).
