Time Out says

Dial in to flirt at this cheeky Sunday singles session at the Golden Sheaf

Ring-a-ding-ding! If you and your single mates have been feeling a little rusty in the chatting up department since the strangeness of 2020 – and as we reported, the nature of love, lust and romance really changed last year – this cute Sunday sesh in one of Sydney’s pretty beer gardens might be just what the (love) doctor ordered.

In a work-around of the strict table-sitting rules that are part of going out nowadays, the Golden Sheaf has found an inventive way to put mingling back on the table, quite literally. The Double Bay pub is taking note from ‘70s swingers bars of yore and has installed old-fashioned telephones on the tables. The phones are all connected, so if you spot a cutie at another table all you have to do is dial in their table number to have cheeky chat and flex those flirting muscles. If all goes well, you can order a drink to their table from your own phone with the me&u app.

Channel the Valentine’s Day energy and get down to the Sheaf on Sunday, February 14, or get into the mood the following week on Sunday, February 21. The phones will be ringing all day each Sunday, with local DJs setting the hotline bling vibes in the afternoon. You can get refreshed and lubricated to pick up the phone with Canadian Club and Dry drink specials and fuel up with the Sheaf’s summer menu, which is designed to be shared and grazed on.

Bookings are advised, with minimum tables of four – so round up your single mates and get ready to mingle. Book here.
