The French do some things best. Soft and gooey cheese. Golden flaky croissants. Fashion. Infidelity. And so it is the case with the wine that goes hand in hand with summertime picnics and afternoon swims: rosé.

Located in north west and central France and spanning 800 kilometers, the picture-perfect Loire Valley is renowned for its dry white wines such as sauvignon blanc and chenin blanc. The region also produces some of the finest rosé in the world – refreshing, dry and not too sweet with a pale pink colour and bursting with fresh fruit.

See life through rosé-coloured glasses this October as Surry Hills’ beloved pub the Clock Hotel will be hosting a four-day French Loire rosé pop-up. Guests will be able to sample drops straight from the Loire Valley at the Rosé Room during the free event, kicking off on Thursday October 27 and going to Sunday October 30.

Bunches of pastel pink flowers and fairy lights will transform a section of the Clock Hotel as rosé lovers get a free taste of four exquisite Loire wines – Crémant de Loire Brut Rosé, Rosé d'Anjou, and two Rosé de Loire – just in time for those summer soirées you are planning.

Clock Hotel chef Luke McEnallay will be preparing dishes to pair with the wine including cheese platters with salumi, cornichons, flatbread and toasted sourdough, as well as chocolate and caramel petit fours.

Specials will be available during the pop-up, and keep an eye out on the Loire Valley Wines Aus' Instagram as there’ll be a chance to win bottles of rosé.

Get your best friends together, bring your mum and come on down to the Clock so all your rosé dreams can come true.
