Time Out says

Have yourself a merry good time at this family-friendly extravaganza

‘Tis the season to be jolly, and there’s no place more festive this year than the Sydney Christmas Fair. Returning to the Entertainment Quarter over three weekends in December, this magical, all-ages event is promising a huge line-up of carnival-style rides, interactive workshops, dance parties, showbags and even an appearance by the big man himself.

Purchase a two-hour unlimited ride wristband ($25) and you’ll have free rein to go crazy on a number of thrilling attractions, including a giant waterslide, classic carousel and dodgem cars. But if it’s fame, glory and a cool prize you’re after, test your skills at the laughing clowns, duck pond or ball toss.

The Gingerbread House Party is shaping up as the place to be seen, with DJ Jinglelena spinning the decks and playing all the hottest Christmas carols for the littlies. The kids will also love the Elf Workshops, where they can tap into their creative sides and write a letter to Santa at the North Pole or make a Christmas card.

Speaking of Santa, he’ll be available for socially distanced photos with both children and pets – and cute costumes are highly encouraged.

Entry costs $5, but you can also purchase the Stuff Your Stocking add-on for $10 (which allows the kids to gather goodies from the Elf Workshops) or score 11 discount coupons (to be used on rides or games) for $50.

While tickets are available at the gate, due to capacity restrictions it is recommended you snap them up early via the website in order to secure your preferred date. You can even use your NSW Dine and Discover voucher. Parking is free for the first two hours, otherwise there are plenty of public transport options – like the light rail and metro buses – that service the area.
