Hyde Park welcomes pop-up swimming pools, pinball machines and sideshow fun

Once again the Sydney Festival's CBD dwelling will transform into a hub of food, laughter, glitter and discovery. In Janurary the Sydney Festival Village Sideshow will come to life with a series of sideshow-themed artworks and installations. This includes Jonnine Standish and Jasmin Tarasin's Ghost Train, a virtual reality meets classic fairground ride experience where you choose your own fate; the Karaoke Carousel (which as you guessed it, allows you to belt out your favourite tragic sing-a-long tunes atop of a merry-go-round) and Glitterbox, a sparkle and glitter fuelled party container.

You'll also be able to check out Lucas Abela’s award-winning Temple of Din, which combines pinball machines and music instruments for a left-of-centre gaming experience; a one-on-one drag queen-fronted fortune telling experience; and a series of pop-up, shipping container swimming pools. As always the Spiegeltent will be home to a caucophany of ticketed cabaret, music and kids' performances, plus there will be loads of bars and snacks stops.
