Time Out says

After two weeks of revelry, the New Year's festivities conclude with this family-friendly fair

The biggest Lunar New Year celebration outside of Asia closes out with this family-friendly fete in Belmore Park near Central Station. Traditionally, New Year’s festivities run for two weeks before culminating in the Lantern Festival on the 15th day of the first lunar month. Aside from releasing floating paper lanterns en masse, it’s a day for families and friends to spend quality time together, often in parks and outdoor spaces.

With that in mind, gather your nearest and dearest for this community fair featuring food, bargain shopping and entertainment galore. There will be carnival rides and craft activities for kids, traditional lion dances and firecrackers, as well as food trucks and market stalls to browse. Plus, more than 300 performers will entertain the crowds with multicultural dance, music, theatre and storytelling in the Lunar Spectacular Show.

The free event runs all day from 10am to 4:30pm.
