If you can still rock the elements rap you learned in science class, or if you've retained fun facts about protons, neutrons and electrons, you’ll want to be part of this nerd-tastic talk. Triple J’s Dr Karl Kruszelnicki is teaming up with comedian and maths geek Adam Spencer, and Sydney University’s chemist and science communicator Dr Alice Motion to pay tribute to the periodic table of chemical elements.
It’ll be a lighthearted discussion for the Sydney Science Festival that investigates some of the rarer elements, how others on the table are formed, how they were or are yet to be discovered and other whacky facts behind this 150-year-old essential scientific tool.
Since 2019 is the International Year of the Periodic Table and the talk is happening during National Science Week, it’s a great time to soak up some knowledge. This is a free event, but you’ll want to register ahead of time to save a seat.
