Time Out says

Drink beers for a great cause

You never need an excuse to sink a few beers, but the opportunity to do so for a charitable cause is about as good a reason as there can possibly be. Now in its 18th year at Cruise Bar, Amber Affair is an annual boutique tasting that celebrates the best in local beer, wine, gin and cider, and raises money for the Sydney Children’s Hospitals Foundation.

This year, Yullis, Young Henrys, Modus Operandi, Stone and Wood, Sydney Brewery, Frenchies and James Squire are all pouring brewskis, with Batlow on cider duty. Riot Wine Co and Tassie’s 7K Distillery are also along for the ride, with Hemp Kombucha in charge of keeping the teetotallers and gut health-minded folks hydrated.

An $80 ticket gets you a tasting passport to sample from all the producers, and full glasses of three of your favourites. Free-flowing canapés will keep your stomach lined, and both live and silent auctions will be giving away prizes like a Hunter Valley wine escape for two with Tim McGraw concert tickets or a signed Sydney Roosters jersey should you really get in the spirit of giving.

The event has raised over $50,000 in previous years, so why not try to top it? Doing something for the greater good can be easy – and delicious.
