Time Out says

Find the best things in buns at this food festival dedicated to burgers

Whether you’re keen on an almost-impossible-to-hold melty cheese number or a tangy, crisp fried chicken creation, the humble burger is one that satisfies the masses. The team behind the Burger Collective – an app for seeking out and seeing reviews of burgers – are organising a feast where Sydney’s burger fanatics can scoff beautiful buns till they burst, and fight over where the cheese and lettuce should sit between the bread.

The Burger Expo will run for one day only across lunch and dinner on August 11, offering stacked meals from six burger pros. Penrith’s Burger Head will be sizzling up the goods beside the team from DIY greasy-good burger purveyors Loaded by BL, Happy Ending Burgers, Burger Point, Brisbane’s Mondaze, and Monroe’s from Melbourne.

They’ll be working with Alvin Cailan, who is the founder of US brekky sambo empire Eggslut and YouTube series the Burger Show, to create six special burgers for the expo. Beyond the buns, you can egg your friends on in a chilli-eating comp, play a round of lawn bowls, or pretend like you’re doing your home 'burg routine and get comfy in the PalyStation zone playing FIFA.

They’re promising that beers will also be present, but we don’t yet have the low-down on which brewers might make an appearance. Live music is also on the cards, with guest still to be announced.

You can book tickets to the lunch or dinner session, which both run for four hours and cost $6-$12 (nab first release tix for the savings). Once you’re in the burger utopia, you’ll need to flash cash for your meals and bevvies.
