The city's biggest bivalve celebration is back
It's the fifth year of the Morrison's Oyster Festival and Sydney still can't seem to get enough of those tasty little bivalves. This year during the month of August, the inner city restaurant and bar will boast oysters from 50 regions around Australia.
Oyster Hour is back with $1 oysters from 6-7pm daily; there're mixing up Red Snappers (it's like a gin Bloody Mary) with smoked oysters in them; you can lace your shellfish with a drop of peaty whisky; or do an oyster shooter with tequila, pineapple, jalapeno and mint.
There'll be masterclasses on tasting and matching, and the menu will feature southern fried oysters, beer battered oysters with mushy peas, oyster omlettes, oyster chowder and carpet bag steaks.
