If you wander down to Playfair Street when the sun is shining on a weekend, you’ll find a small contingent of stalls offering locally made homewares, jewellery, art, fashion, beauty products, and gourmet street food. But as Vivid starts to bring the hordes of moth-like light seekers out after dark, the markets on the cobbled lane stay up later and start whipping up more wintery treats.
Enjoy delicious snacks like fresh gozleme, pizzas, okonomiyaki – a versatile sweet or savoury Japanese pancake – and all manner of meats and treats on sticks, plus gelato and artisanal chocolates. Then, float between the Vivid Light installations with a satisfied tum.
The markets will be running until the end of the luminescent Vivid season (June 15),
Friday-Sunday until 10pm.
