Time Out says

Chuck on a tux or gown and help raise funds for valuable refugee programs

Settlement Services International (SSI) is a community organisation that supports refugees, asylum seekers, and culturally and linguistically diverse communities in Australia. They provide invaluable help with housing, obtaining bridging visas, and assisting newly arrived and culturally diverse people in gaining meaningful social and economic inclusion in NSW. To keep it all afloat, SSI are raising funds with their annual Mosaic Gala, a fancy black-tie event that throws some coin at their Ignite Small Business Start-up programs and Refugee Scholarships.

Buying a ticket to the gala gives you the chance to get gussied up, well fed, and entertained while knowing your coin is going somewhere worthwhile. Hosted by writer Sunil Badami, the Mosaic gala will host performances from comedian Matt Okine, Bollywood group Sirens Dance, and music highlights from Lucky African Drum and Dance. There’s also a globe-trotting degustation menu, raffle prizes and a silent auction on the night. If you don’t like fun or food, you can donate to SSI through the gala ticketing page here.
