Time Out says

Unlock The Rocks – the harbourside suburb's winter wonderland of culinary entertainment –  springs into action this August, celebrating The Rocks' incredible drinking and dining experiences. The 2025 edition will bring together NSW’s top cellar doors, artisan makers, jazz musicians and coffee roasters for a month-long feast and celebration of the charming, historic district. And while you can head down any day of the week, the festival is going down on August 23 and 24, really ramping things up a notch.

Make a start at First Fleet Park, where a stellar line-up of vendors are taking over the lush green space from August 23-24. After a warming speciality brew from Bar Coco Coffee, you can order up a snack (or two) from the smorgasbord of offerings. Choose from a selection of charcuterie from La Bastide, freshly shucked oysters from Sydney Oyster Farm or grab some award-winning cheese to go from Little Cheese Creek.

Pair your meal with a glass of vino from one of the six NSW wineries that will be there pouring three samples for $5, per producer – or enjoy a full glass of your favourite wine for $10. There’s estate-grown drops from Gundagai’s family-owned Borambola Wines, cool climate varietals from the duo behind Jessop in Orange, and expertly crafted reds from Bordeaux winemaker Jean-François Esnault at Skimstones. From the Hunter Valley, you can try one of the region’s biggest producers, Hungerford Hill, who have been around since the ‘60s and Tyrell's, a historic Hunter Valley landmark. Or, sample the Southern Highlands’ Peppergreen Estate, a vineyard, olive grove and dining experience all in one who produce some of the region's tastiest cool climate wines.

Once you’ve made the most of First Fleet Park, get lost in the laneways where a treasure trove of food and drink deals can be found across the whole month. Highlights include coffee roasting and cupping workshops by Aslan Coffee Roasters on the Coffee Trail; free beer tastings at The Australian Heritage Hotel; oyster shucking at the newly opened Hooked and Harvest; a pop-up jazz trail that takes you to some of the best spots in town including Le Foote and The Rawson; live music at 4 Doors Down and so much more.

Head down on August 23-24 from 11am-4pm for exclusive events at Unlock The Rocks. Find out more here.
