If you’ve been on the hunt for a sharp, crumbly dairy-free cheese or some body lotion that’s only been tested on enthusiastic beauty developers, then head to Glebe on November 2-3. Thanks to the friendly folk at the Cruelty Free Shop, the suburb will be transforming for a second weekend this year into a vegan nirvana for two days of vegan-friendly tastings, specials, sales and giveaways.
Dedicated plant eaters and those investigating the low-impact lifestyle will be out in force over the weekend, shopping for vegan groceries, sampling plant-based treats, enjoying free milk-free coffee and even tasting vegan wines. The last event saw about 8,000 shoppers visiting more than 80 retailers and cafés offering special deals or committing to a vegan takeover.
The shopping spree starts at the Cruelty Free Shop, where you can collect the Vegan Day Out map, which opens the doors to vegan Narnia with vouchers that let you redeem special offers across the suburb. From there, simply spend the day wandering from shop to shop and enjoy your animal-friendly, ethical day of retail and food.
